Grupo Rotoplas 2021 ESG results + 2025 ESG targets

December 14th, 2021 – (BMV: AGUA*) Rotoplas hosted its investor day today, where top management shared an update of their business and sustainability strategy results and targets. The key messages for the ESG strategy in the event were:

  • ESG 2021 Results: Rotoplas managed to deliver important progress on all three ESG pillars this year, including an increase in the use of recycled resins by 20%, the delivery of 300 million liters of purified waters through bebbia (decrease the use of plastic water bottles), an improvement in employee engagement and the organization’s health index (despite the continued impact of the pandemic), the inclusion of sustainability and impact metrics on capital allocation decisions, an increase in independent board members who now represent 57% of the board, and improvements in ESG scores in different ratings processes (S&P’s CSA and MSCI ESG).

  • ESG 2025 Targets: Rotoplas also launched a series of targets aligned with different topics of its 2025 Sustainability Strategy:
    • Evaluate 100% of suppliers under ESG criteria.
    • Increase NPS to 80%.
    • Reach 1 million people through solutions for sanitation and access to water, including drinking water solutions.
    • Increase participation of women in the team to 30%.
    • Reduce intensity of scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions from 0.51 to 0.41 and become carbon neutral by 2040 (working on aligning to SBTi).
    • Increase the output of purified water to more than 1.7 million cubic meters.

Miranda ESG welcomes the launch of new sustainability targets that are aligned with the new sustainability strategy and looks forward to seeing where Rotoplas can take this.
