Mexico City, Mexico, February 4, 2022—Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA (NASDAQ: OMAB; BMV: OMA), reports that terminal passenger traffic at its 13 airports increased 45.3% in January 2022, as compared to January 2021. Domestic traffic increased 42.3%, and international traffic increased 68.5%.
During January 2022, OMA’s traffic levels were affected by the omicron variant, which impacted the availability of airline crews, resulting in 938 commercial flight cancellations.
Total Passengers*
Of total passenger traffic, 99.1% was commercial, and 0.9% was general aviation.
