TRAXIÓN Announces Second Quarter 2023 Results

The figures presented in this report have been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and are expressed in nominal millions of Mexican Pesos (MXN), unless otherwise stated.

  • Consolidated revenue reached Ps. 5,980 million during the quarter, an increase of 21.0% compared to 2Q23.
  • The Logistics and Technology Segment recorded revenue growth of 47.5%, largely resulting from an increase in the 3PL logistics business.
  • Total costs increased by 14.3%, reflecting improved efficiency as a percentage of revenues compared to 2Q22.
  • Consolidated EBITDA totaled Ps. 1,162 million in the quarter, an increase of 35.3% compared to the same period of 2022.
  • EBITDA margin was 19.4%.
  • Net income totaled Ps. 112 million in 2Q23.
  • Net operating cash flow totaled Ps. 1,196 million, an increase of 27.4% compared to 2Q22.
  • CapEx during 2Q23 stood at Ps. 882 million.
  • Net Debt to EBITDA ratio stood at 2.41x at the end of 2Q23.
  • Average fleet in operation during 2Q23 was 10,275 power units.
  • In June, TRAXIÓN announced the acquisition of BBA Logistics, a freight brokerage company based in the United States, offering door-to-door and cross-border services within the U.S. and following a 100% asset-light model, as part of TRAXIÓN’s expansion strategy into the U.S. market.

Logistics and Technology
Through this segment, TRAXIÓN provides logistics solutions across the supply chain using digital platforms and technology-driven applications and an asset-light focus. Among the services rendered are integrated: 4PL logistics solutions, 3PL warehouse management, last-mile, courier and delivery services, and rail intermodal cargo brokerage. At the end of 2Q23, it operated more than 755,281 square meters of 3PL warehouse, and a last-mile fleet of 781 units.

 

Mobility of Cargo
This segment provides integrated cargo solutions. Amongst the services rendered are dedicated freight, less-than-truckload, intermodal, refrigerated freight, international cargo and borders transfers, petrochemicals, moving and specialized transportation. We operate 5 leading and renowned brands: Transportadora EGOBA, Muebles y Mudanzas MYM, Grupo SID, Auto Express Frontera Norte, and Autotransportes El Bisonte. TRAXIÓN operates one of the youngest, most modern, and flexible fleets in the industry, with 2,240 power units at the end of 2Q23.

 

Mobility of Personnel
The mobility of personnel segment provides personnel transportation services to corporations, industrial parks, and hotels, as well as student transportation to schools and universities, and tourism services to groups. Through its subsidiary LIPU, TRAXIÓN operates a centralized platform under dedicated contracts or spot service and the largest and most modern fleet in Mexico composed of an average of 7,254 power units at the end of 2Q23.
